CONCLUSIONS: what can be learned from this study?

This study has demonstrated that the parent-child relationship shows similarities and contrasts both between and within societal models.  In general, the two foraging societies resemble one another in this regard more closely than either resembles the post-industrial society, affirming the validity of recognizing distinct models even in today's globalizing world.  Although it is not entirely certain whether, or how long, these distinctions will persist in this modern age of acculturation and homogenization, a multiplicity of cultures and cultural elements is invaluable for what it has to offer in terms of insights into human nature and a broad outlook on the world and its problems.
